The Portuguese Ministry of National Defense has delivered eight SA-330 Puma helicopters to Ukraine as part of a military aid package during the country’s conflict with Russia.
This transfer, which took place at the end of 2024, was detailed in a document outlining the support provided to Ukraine and was officially confirmed by the Minister of Defense.
The Portuguese helicopters were stored in 2012 and made available for sale in 2014, so they were ready to support Ukraine’s defense efforts.
A notable feature of the Portuguese SA-330 Puma is the use of advanced fire control systems, which allow for the launching of Exocet anti-ship missiles Exocet.
